Nestled in the hills off of Naramata Road in Penticton, BC, Red Rooster Winery offers an experience beyond expectations.
Founded in 1990, Red Rooster Winery has been a staple in the Okanagan wine industry for decades. Its first vintage was released in 1997 and ever since, the winery has been impressing people all across Canada.
Local Partnership
Committed to top-notch hospitality and delivering unforgettable experiences, Red Rooster is partnering with local Penticton restaurant The Nest this spring to provide mouthwatering food pairings to add onto your seated wine flight. Established in 2016, The Nest prides itself on highlighting locally sourced ingredients and showcasing
them in an elevated and modern way.
This spring, Red Rooster will be offering several revamped experiences: their Signature Experience, Iconic Experience, Frosé Experience and Winemakers Experience.
The Signature Experience, a seated educational option, will awaken your senses and educate you on the various senses involved in wine tasting. Starting in May, guests will be hosted on Red Rooster’s expansive covered patio and will be invited to try a selection of the winery’s red and white releases. Each varietal will be paired with tastes and smells of sweet, salty, spicy and sour samples, highlighting how each wine adapts to different flavour profiles. Wines included in the flight will change weekly.
Red Rooster’s Iconic Experience will have your tastebuds exploding with flavour as you try small bites and limited release wines. Starting on May 20, this one-hour seated wine and food pairing will further highlight not only how food can bring out different aromas and flavours in wine, but how different flavours in the food can actually enhance the wine itself.
For an opportunity to spend a few hours with the Red Rooster winemaking team and learn the ins and outs of what goes into creating award-winning wine, the Winemakers Experience is unparalleled. Starting in July, the winery will be offering this exclusive tour, but you can book ahead now to secure your spot. The one-and-a-half-hour experience will take guests on a guided tour of Red Rooster’s cellars, and will discuss blending, barrel aging, fermenting, and questions such as “What does ‘sur lie’ mean?” or “What is carbonic maceration?” Rest assured that you will leave with new knowledge. This hands-on experience will take place every Thursday during July and August, with each week focusing on a different theme, such as the difference between Syrah and Shiraz, or why Pinot Noir is known as the “heartbreak grape.” Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or taking your first sips, there is something for everyone to take away.
