From its famous, annual Show Shine ‘n’ Wine event, to its Crush Party, Oliver Twist Estate Winery knows how to have fun.
The winery just released its fifth vintage in the NOSTALGIA series with new pin-up girl, Cindy Lou, claiming the bottle. For those who have yet to try Oliver Twist wine, each bottle in the NOSTALGIA series is labelled with a unique pin-up girl, from Billy Jean on the Pink Cadillac, to Ellie Mae dancing on the Boogie Woogie White.
“Each character embodies the personality of the wine,” says Gina Harfman, owner and winemaker at Oliver Twist Estate Winery. “For our new 2017 Chantilly Lace, a semi-sweet bubbly Kerner blend, we wanted her to have a joyful personality — someone who captures the entire room’s attention.”
Oliver Twist’s fall release is a wine to warm you up this fall. The 2014 Syrah, aged in French and American oak, is fruit-forward. Its notes of white pepper, sage and blackberry make it a seamless pairing with wild game, such as venison or lamb.
John Schreiner, one of Canada’s most respected wine critics, gave the new release 92 points.
“This is a bold, masculine interpretation of the variety, with black pepper aromas and with flavours of fig, prune and deli meats,” he said.
