Spend your Sundays on a blanket in the grass with a personalized charcuterie board and a bottle of wine. It’s easy to do at Oliver Twist Estate Winery.
Located near Oliver on a 17-acre vineyard on the Black Sage Bench, Oliver Twist will supply the basket, a stocked deli fridge, a glass of its famous Kerner and a gorgeous view. All you need to do is show up.
“It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon,” said wine shop manager Tracy MacFadden. “Whether it’s a romantic lunch for two, the entire family or just you and a good book, you can’t go wrong.”
Not Your Average Car Show For those looking for something a little livelier, the winery’s fifth Show, Shine ‘n’ Wine gears up Saturday, July 14, from noon to 5 pm.
This is not your average car show. Okanagan Dance Studio will teach you swing dance and there’s a pin-up girl contest. Vancouver-based rockabilly group The Wheelgrinders will have you up on your feet. Check out the local food vendors and local artisans while enjoying a pint of beer from the Firehall Brewery.
Most exciting of all, the winery will be releasing its fifth wine in the Nostalgia series – with a new pin-up girl to match. Admission is free with donations going towards local charity Highway to Healing.
Grape Stomp! Festivities at Oliver Twist carry on beyond the summer with the second annual grape stomp and crush party on Saturday, September 29. Celebrate the harvest and take part in the Lucille Ball lookalike contest as grapes squish between your toes! The crush party registration opens in the summer so you can start counting down the days.
“We really are passionate about creating fantastic wine and a fun experience,” said MacFadden.
No matter why you come, a trip to Oliver Twist will be one to remember.
