They’re celebrating at Clos du Soleil! This small artisanal winery recently won three medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards, the world’s most prestigious and influential wine competition.
The three silver medals were awarded to: Capella 2016, the winery’s premier white, an elegant Bordeaux blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon; Signature 2014, a flagship blend of red Bordeaux varietals; and the 2013 Estate Reserve Red, the pinnacle of the estate’s portfolio, designed specifically to highlight the estate’s unique terroir.
Multiple wins like this in such a high-level international competition are rare. This is a significant achievement that speaks to the quality of their entire portfolio of wines. All of these award-winning wines are available at the winery’s tasting room. Be forewarned — the wines are crafted in small batches so act now to avoid disappointment. These wines may soon be rare commodities.
Guests can also enjoy these wines in the newly licensed picnic area [pictured]. Try one of the winery’s self-serve picnic lunches and relax outside. The surroundings are beautiful! Let the kids explore. It’s worry free; there are no restricted areas at this organic and biodynamic winery.
Verticale, the winery’s premier event, is scheduled for Saturday, September 29. Come and enjoy an afternoon-long gourmet lunch paired with a tasting of every single vintage of the winery’s flagship wines. This is an invitation-only event and gives precedence to media and wine club members.
The best way to get a ticket is by becoming a wine club member. The privileges are impressive – dinners with the estate’s winemaker, insider wine information in special newsletters and much more. For more information visit the website. Plus, there’s a chance for you to attend Verticale for free! The winery is running a contest for two tickets. Follow the winery on social media and watch for details.
