No pretention. At Township 7 Vineyards & Winery, it’s all about the wine! On May 5 and 12, during the Spring Wine Festival, Township 7 offers a wine and food pairing from 2 to 3:30 pm. Their resident sommelier simplifies the relationship between wine and food and explores the ways in which wine highlights an array of food. Tickets are $37 and can be purchased online.
This Mothers’ Day, the Naramata Bench winery celebrates the release of its 2017 Rosé with a special food and wine pairing seminar. On May 13, from 11 am until 5 pm, Township 7’s sommelier has a delicious charcuterie board for you to enjoy, with the focus on wine.
While you have your calendar open, mark June 17, Fathers’ Day, on it for a tasty day with Dad. It’s the alfresco luncheon, and this year’s event features live lobsters brought in from the east coast courtesy of Rock Lobster Catering. The luncheon is a casual “backyard” affair starting at 1:30 pm. Be sure to reserve early. This event always sells out.
This spring you’ll find the latest 2017 releases of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat and popular 7 Blanc filling the shelves. Many wines, like the rosé and aromatic whites, sell out early each year. Township 7’s wine club, clubSeven, is one sure way to avoid missing out on your favourite varietal or blend. Choose from big reds, aromatic whites or a mixed selection, and receive eight bottles, three times per year. Each shipment comes with tasting notes and some advice on how to experience the nuances of each wine. Shipping is free anywhere in Canada, or pick up your shipment and save 15 per cent.
Come June, the renovated tasting room will have an additional outdoor space. Whether you’re coming for a special event or just dropping by, Township 7’s wines will impress. Allow yourself time to discover that it’s all about the wine.
