Like fresh foliage in the vineyards,
Tinhorn Creek turns a new leaf on its labels.
The design remains true to the brand’s depth just as bud break builds on the strength of the vine’s past. Tinhorn Creek’s namesake is the historical mining site in the southern Okanagan that overlooks the winery on its Golden Mile Bench location. Founded by the Oldfield family, the Oldfield Reserve artisan-style premium wines are crafted to reflect both place and time of the estate vineyards. Spring releases will debut the refreshed label.
As spring launches, snatch up your tickets for the 2017 Canadian Concert Series held in the summer. Tinhorn Creek’s amphitheatre is a one-of-a-kind venue to enjoy live entertainment and perhaps dance the night away under the stars at its strategic hillside perch between the winery and award-winning Miradoro Restaurant. The stellar lineup of musical artists gracing the stage this year are The Boom Booms, May 27th; Julian Taylor Band, June 24th; John Welsh Band, July 22nd; and the Mounties, August 26th. Additional events entice you to Tinhorn Creek such as Golden Mile Bench Vineyards Hikes with wine tastings, May 7th and August 18th; and Yoga in the Vineyard on Saturday mornings throughout June, July and August. The ever-popular Starlit Supper returns July 27th where guests experience a multi-course alfresco dinner by Miradoro Restaurant paired with Tinhorn Creek wines as the moon rises over the mountains.
Any time is great to check into Miradoro’s spectacular setting to treat yourself to the Mediterranean-influenced cuisine by executive chef Jeff Van Geest. Elevating the region’s finest and freshest local ingredients, Miradoro is a five-time Vancouver Magazine gold award winner for Best Winery/Vineyard Dining. Miradoro’s modern design is integrated seamlessly into the natural landscape to complement the traditional look of the winery and barrel cellar and provide breathtaking vineyard and valley views to accompany the delectable menu. Weekly communal table dinners are featured every Tuesday evening, April and May. This season’s first Guest Chef Dinner is May 5th as Chef Jeff invites Chef Jefferson Alvarez of Vancouver’s Cacao as partner in Miradoro’s kitchen to create a multi-course dinner paired with Tinhorn Creek wines, Cannery Brewing beers and Dubh Glas Distillery craft spirits.
Added to Miradoro’s accolades and the many gold medals for Tinhorn Creek’s wines, it was the first Canadian winery to offset its carbon footprint to become Canada’s first Carbon Neutral Winery within the Climate Smart program and it was designated Canada’s Safest Employer 2016 (Hospitality). CEO Sandra Oldfield was also recognized by the Women’s Executive Network for her trailblazing and trendsetting leadership and named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Top 100 Women.
