It’s great to remove yourself from the game from time to time to kick back and enjoy some patio time at The Bench Market. Summer is short in Canada and the outdoors is calling.
Find a spot under an umbrella next to a wine barrel overflowing with colourful flowers, listen to some tunes and enjoy an all-day breakfast including some new gluten-aware options, weekend brunch specials (yeah bennies!), gourmet lunches or tasty baked goods – with a cup of the best locally-roasted organic coffee in town or a cool drink.
Locals and visitors mingle on the sunny patio tucked into a neighbourhood setting. It’s the spot to watch a passing parade of cyclists working their way up Vancouver hill en route to Naramata, or zooming back. The Bench Market offers lots of bike parking too, when coffee is calling and refueling is needed.
If the beach, wine touring plans or hiking adventures on the nearby Kettle Valley Railway are beckoning, The Bench Market has you covered there too, with an artisan retail section including grab & go sandwiches, artisan charcuterie, olives, local cheese, crackers, lovely chutneys and much more.
Owners Stewart and Heather Glynes thank the community once again for supporting their four-month soup & sandwich fundraiser that ran from January to April. More than $1,600 was donated to four local charities: the Penticton Soupateria, Penticton Boys and Girls Club, South Okanagan Victims Assistance Society and the Penticton Salvation Army Community Food Bank.
