The Westside Wine Trail invites you to take to the trail for a rare comparison each Tuesday. The recently launched #TastyTuesday is a coordinated effort where member wineries who make a certain wine all pour it that day in their unique tasting rooms so you can explore how different winemakers bring out the flavours in that varietal or blend. Really any day is a great day to tour the Westside and its diverse wineries from some of the oldest and most established in the Okanagan to some of the most recent. Beyond age, size and amenities, the diversity goes to the wine varietals offered and based on where the grapes are grown, the nuances within those vintages. As for taste, your opportunities to satisfy your cravings go beyond what’s in your glass to what’s on your plate. You’ll find five wineries with tantalizing restaurants including newcomer Indigenous World Winery and the established Mission Hill, Quails’ Gate, Little Straw, and Volcanic Hills. If you prefer to pack your own Okanagan goodies, many of the other wineries offer licenced al fresco areas and patios in which to enjoy their wine along with your picnic lunch. Throughout the summer, watch for special events when some of the wineries will feature taco or other food trucks onsite. Within a short drive from Kelowna, you’ll find the Westside Wine Trail where the wineries are perched in close proximity to each other in idyllic rural settings from quaint to spectacular. Some offer spectacular lake views while others verdant vineyards. Visit thewestsidewinetrail.com for all the latest news and touring details.
