Remember how cool wine charms where when they came out? What an amazing invention—a way to remember which wine glass is yours. As a hostess, there is nothing worse than seeing three times the number of empty wine glasses, many with wine in them, at the end of an event all because your guests forgot which glass was theirs and grabbed a new one. Alas, the charms had the same effect…a couple of glasses of wine later and one tends to forget which charm was theirs.
However, forgetting your name is another story. The Wine Glass Writer is the genius invention of Californian Jeannine Fradelizio. These wonderful pens write on glass (as well as glazed ceramics, mirrors etc) and then can be easily washed off in the dishwasher! Not only super serviceable, they are also so much fun and provide entertainment allowing guests to get creative with their wine glass designs. So great, the WALL STREET JOURNAL listed them in the TOP 5 Wine Accessories of the year. Wine Glass Writers are certified ASTM – D4236 non-toxic the ink dries in 1-2 minutes and is virtually odorless so it does not interfere with a wine’s bouquet.
Jeannine’s daughter Renée Stewart, operations & sales manager, now lives in Penticton after meeting and falling in love with a Canadian while abroad. Renée is here spreading the word about her family company’s fabulous writers, and we agree that every household needs a package or two on hand. Personally, I give the writers as hostess gifts and they make the perfect present for friends who entertain. We also use the Wine Glass Writers at our Wine Party Festivals—people absolutely LOVE them and it helps us with the same issue of controlling the number of glassware used.
The writers are currently available at select wine shops and retailers in the Okanagan and will be for sale at our upcoming wine festivals! They also come in different colours, including metallics.
