The valley has been buzzing about acclaimed winemaker Kathy Malone’s limited-production, highly sought-after Muscat Ottonel. Floral, elegant, and a Hillside original, an early release to Wine Club members in March means that time is running out to procure your share of this delicacy. Another perk for those lucky Wine Club folks happens on May 5th at the new release Pickup Party. Club members can enjoy canapes, new release wines and music (and surely a selfie with the iconic Hillside pickup truck!).
Even if you’re not yet a member (what are you waiting for?), you still have every reason to revel in the bustle and bounty at Hillside this spring.
On May 7th, enjoy the Spring Wine Fest’s Roll Out the Barrels barrel tastings. Hillside’s unique offering this year: sip their 2015 Gamay Noir as you linger among the magnificent old vines that produced it. You’ll find seductive red fruit and a long finish, but you might need to also sample the 2012 in the wineshop, you know, for comparison.
The winery gleams at the Pinot and Pearls celebrations during Spring Wine Fest. The next of these afternoon patio events (3- 5, May 7th) pairs the winery’s delectable Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris with fresh-shucked BC oysters and live music from Uncorked!
On May 8th, Chef Brent Pillon serves an extraordinary Mother’s Day brunch at the Bistro (10-1) –make reservations, as all of these events sell out quickly.
This spring, follow that enticing rumble to Hillside Winery and see for yourself what the commotion is all about.
