BC Wines continue to garner world attention and yet another article was just published in California’s SOMM Journal. One of the foremost wine critics in the world, the UK’s Steven Spurrier, writes about his trip to BC in the story “The Best of British Columbia” and paid particular attention to Meyer Family Vineyards. The Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs the winery is so well known for all scored above 90 points, the highest being the 2013 Pat Quinn Tribute Series Chardonnay at a stunning 93 points. This should fare well for the winery as they now have a UK presence in the Marks and Spencer wine selection.
Meyer has recently released their 2014 single vineyard Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs which are available online or in their tasting room. The Meyer team has also been busy hand-riddling 8,000 bottles of their non-vintage sparkling which is bubbling away and will be released shortly to their wine club and only a select few restaurants; the wine is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Saturday May 21st marks the first ever Meyer Family Reunion & annual Spring Release Party (pictured). Enjoy newly released wines, a delicious BBQ prepared by Chef Jordan Ash from Flambé Catering, and take in the stunning views from their family owned vineyard on McLean Creek Road. Later, sip on a glass of your favourite MFV wine and enjoy live music featuring the very talented duo Aidan Mayes and Mandy Cole. Tickets can be purchased online at www.MFVspringrelease.eventbrite.com
