Fairview Cellars owner Bill Eggert has added two new wines to the portfolio. For fans of Fairview’s Crooked Post Pinot Noir, a new Pinot Noir will be released this spring.
2014 Eagle Bluff Vineyard
Pinot Noir
This new Pinot is an intensely aromatic wine with equally pronounced flavours. Though it is lighter in colour than other Fairview red wines (other than the aforementioned Crooked Post Pinot Noir), the huge flavor of this wine is pure Fairview-style: intense red cherries and wild strawberries wrapped in a light package of baking spices all held together with a ribbon of beautiful acidity. This wine will be more than your food’s best friend – it will want to spend the night.
2014 Gusto Bianco
This exciting new offering is made from Sauvignon Blanc, it has complex aromas of ripe ambrosia apples, lemon meringue, and a steely, mineral component that makes it a new experience with every sniff. With a little residual sugar, this wine has smoothness and that makes it a perfect pairing for spicy foods that would otherwise conflict with more perfumed aromas of most off-dry wine varieties like Gewürztraminer.
