Inspired by the success of last year’s participation in Penticton’s Saturday community market, the Bench Artisan Food Market will participate again until mid-September. “We’ll be in same great location on Front Street just off Main,” says co-owner Heather Glynes. “Since it’s a challenge with the Saturday downtown road closures for our fans to get to our location, we bring the Bench to the market. We’re delighted to support such a wonderful Penticton attraction and it gives us another opportunity to welcome visitors to our community.” You’ll find Bench-made fruit muffins and scones, granola, almonds, cookies, date squares, and granola bars along with its fresh-squeezed lemonade and other cold drinks. The Bench’s old fashioned popcorn machine also returns to make truffle popcorn on site with non-GMO, organic popcorn kernels, popped with organic coconut oil and topped with real butter and Amola truffle salt. Yes, please! While you’re there, capture your visit with a fun picture using the Bench’s own quirky photo board, custom painted by talented local artist Larry Hunter. Now there’s an artsy memento for you!
After you’ve completed your tour of the downtown markets, just follow Front Street up Vancouver Avenue to the Bench for a sit-down brunch on its picturesque garden patio or inside its art-bedecked café. If you prefer, grab a homemade takeaway meal, or pick up artisan grocery items. Open daily, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 5 pm; and Saturday, Sunday and holidays, 8 am to 5 pm, the Bench Market offers comfort food with a stylish local twist.
