Larch Hills Winery is one of the many reasons thousands of visitors flock to the Shuswap area each year, and it holds a well-deserved spot near the top of the list. Shuswap Lake and its surrounding area beckons with its lush farmlands, sparkling waters, pristine forests, idyllic orchards and more recently, its cool climate vineyards.
Larch Hills Winery produces premium cool climate wines in an area where the summer sun and cool winters allow for distinctly different and delicious wines. Hazel and Jack Manser, proprietors of Larch Hills, are currently producing their 11th vintage and over the years they’ve amassed a solid following of loyal customers and a steady stream of new wine enthusiasts.
These wines are ideal for summer sipping, easy to drink and equally at home on their own or paired with the area’s fresh foods. Hazel recommends the Sparkling Ortega, Rose and Lemberger.
“Everybody loves Ortega,” Hazel says. “Serve it chilled…it is light and easy to drink, refreshing and festive. Lemberger is a great chilled summer sipper and the rose a perfect lunch wine. It pairs well with salmon or poultry.”
This year, visit the Salmon Arm area yourself to discover the allure of Larch Hills Winery.
