This summer, Discover Wines celebrates 13 successful years in Kelowna and 2 in Kamloops. The staff welcomes you to visit their stores and check out the best selection of BC wines you will find. You’ll be really glad they have chosen to stay “taxes in” for pricing on the shelf with all the uncertainty of changes to wine pricing in the province. Therefore, the prices are as consumer-friendly as they’ve always been.
Summer started early for Discover Wines with May being one of the busiest on record, followed by a bustling June. “Perhaps the warm weather drew tourists early,” says owner Tracy Gray.
Discover Wines is finding wineries that produce a good variety of customer-friendly aromatic whites sell really well during the height of summer. “Many of the Lake Country wineries like Gray Monk, 50th Parallel, Intrigue and Arrowleaf have wines like these that are staff favourites,” says Tracy.
The artisan cheese line at Discover Wines has been expanded to include a selection from Terroir Cheese in Enderby. “There are so many excellent small artisan cheeses we sell that many times people come in for our cheese selection, then leave with a bottle of wine!” says Tracy.
The owner points out that every Friday and Saturday are Rosé Days at Discover Wines when a new rosé is tasted each day until Thanksgiving. “There are so many excellent rosés on the market you can come in every Friday and Saturday and never taste the same one twice!” says Tracy.
