If you’ve been to Quails’ Gate Estate Winery, you have experienced the tantalizing ambiance that springs from fabulous wines, vineyards so near you can reach out and touch them, lakefront views and a superb restaurant. People like to linger at Quails’ Gate and now, you can include a top notch mini vacation as part of your visit.
Quails’ Gate has launched two exclusive rental properties on the lake. The two bedroom cottage, The Nest, and the Lake House, a four bedroom home, are beautifully appointed and available for three or more nights. After a day of wine touring, dinner at Old Vines Restaurant and nightcaps on the patio, you and your guests will be treated to the best in hospitality at either of these delightful homes.
Bill Wightman, Quails’ Gate hospitality director, says there are plenty of new reasons for a visit to the esteemed restaurant, Old Vines.
“We have several new items on our farm-to-table and Ocean Wise menu,” he says. “I recommend the succulent oysters!” The restaurant is open daily from 11:00 am until closing.
May 1 will herald the annual release of the winery’s aromatic white wines. Wightman suggests you sample the 2014 Rosé, Dry Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chasselas, and the Pinot Blanc/Pinot Gris blend. Exclusively at the winery, you’ll also find the 2014 Viognier and the 25th anniversary Pinot Gris.
Beginning in May, tours run at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm, at $10 per person. Try two complimentary tastings, then add another three for just $5. Quails’ Gate enjoys a reputation for providing guests with an outstanding experience, and the welcome mat is already in place for 2015’s visitors.
