Terrafina at Hester Creek prides itself in greeting the changing seasons with joy enhancing its Tuscan menu with the freshest farm-to-table ingredients. With this same excitement, owner April Goldade is approaching the latest transition of Chef Natasha Schooten moving on to the restaurant at The Grist Mill and Gardens in Keremeos. “We were sad to see Natasha go and wish her all the best in her new adventure,” says April. “It is great news for the Similkameen region to welcome a chef of her ability.” The transition was opportune with Chef Jenna Pillon having joined the Terrafina culinary team and the timing is perfect for Jenna to step into the restaurant chef role. April explains, “We are excited for Jenna and how she will bring her bright, fresh ideas and leadership skills in this position.”
The team is working diligently developing the summer menu, which will be launched at the end of June. With the revisions in BC liquor laws, Terrafina looks forward to being able to offer and showcase some of the local craft breweries and distilleries. “We’re anticipating a fun selection of seasonal beers and beverages to complement our menu this season,” she says.
With summer comes an amazing roster of events in collaboration with the Oliver Osoyoos Winery Association. “There’s music on the patio at Hester Creek, participation in the Similkameen BBQ King at The Grist Mill and the energy of our wine touring visitors.”
Leo Buscaglia noted, “Change is the end result of all true learning.” This philosophy resonates at Terrafina where April sums up the transition, “Overall, with change comes great opportunities and the whole team is excited for this season and being part of the ongoing growth of the South Okanagan.”
What remains constant is the comfortable Old World charm in the stunning setting reminiscent of a Tuscan landscape.
