The Kruger family planted Wild Goose Vineyards over 30 years ago, first selling their award winning fruit to other wineries before producing their first vintage in 1989. Adolf Kruger is one of the pioneers of the BC wine industry, pushing for the establishment of farm gate wineries. Now in their third generation of operation, Wild Goose represents the passion of family estate wineries. Hagen Kruger is the winemaker of a consistent portfolio of aromatic whites and earthy reds that showcase the best Mother Nature has to offer. Roland Kruger runs the operations at the winery, bringing the wine to the people and the people to the wine!
The Kruger family and everyone at Wild Goose Vineyards are passionate about producing top quality wines, and of course, they were ecstatic this summer when the 2012 Mystic River Pinot Blanc won their 8th Lieutenant Governor’s Award of Excellence, the most for any family owned winery in B.C. It is well-deserved kudos, but they are not resting on their laurels.
At Wild Goose Vineyards they believe that innovation and change, balanced with tradition is the key to further success, so they continue to strive for excellence. This included new ways to excite their guests at the winery. Their new tasting room is spacious and welcoming, with incredible views of the vineyards and hills of Okanagan Falls. The works of local guest artists are on display and for sale along with a unique collection of accessories and mementos. Special feature wines are available exclusively at the wine shop, including a selection of library vintages, many of which are award winners. These make exquisite gifts for wine fans on anyone’s gift list! You can also enjoy Wild Goose wines by the glass or bottle in their licensed picnic area.
