You won’t find very many serious photos of the folks behind Squeezed Wines on their website. No, the Ferreira siblings – Christina, Michael, and Nicole – are having a blast with their new winery and it shows. “We don’t have a wine shop,” explains Christina Ferreira who handles Squeezed Wine’s marketing and sales in the BC interior. “All of the VQA stores have our wines.” As well, there are many other locations carrying their Squeezed Red, White and Pink including Village Green Mall liquor store in Vernon and Desert Country Wines in Oliver.
Just like most wineries, customers can also order their wines online. Unlike most wineries, Squeezed lets you order a minimum of six bottles per shipment instead of the usual twelve bottles. It’s a more accessible way to pick up a couple of each of their wines directly from the winery. That accessibility is also evident in their wines, which have a smooth and approachable style. They are perfect for sipping, with or without food to accompany them. “They are wines designed to sit back with your friend and enjoy,” explains Christina.
The gang will be out at some key festivals this fall including Feast of Fields in Vancouver, September 8th at Krause Berry Farm in Langley and the Festival of the Grape in Oliver on October 6th. They will also be featured at the Okanagan Food and Wine Film Festival that takes place September 13-15 in Kelowna. “Each film will have a food and wine reception immediately following the screening,” says Christina. Squeezed Wines will be included in the reception following the film “A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt” on September 14th.
