Did you Find Freud? All summer, participants sent in images of Freud that they captured throughout the Valley via their Facebook or Twitter accounts. These were entered into a draw for monthly prizes. Check Therapy's Twitter (@therapywines) or Facebook (therapyvineyards) posts for August and September winners. Daphne Tomkins, Sales and Marketing Manager for the winery, further encourages the use of social media by offering a 10% discount on Guesthouse bookings using Wine Trails’ promo code.
Need some FizzioTherapy? These fun, fizzy recent releases are popular summertime sippers, in both White and Rosé ($22). The Blanc is a blend of Riesling, Viognier and Orange Muscat that yields aromas of peach and apple, and has a refreshingly off-dry finish. The Rosé is made from Merlot and Pinot Noir giving it a lovely pale salmon-pink color, cherry and strawberry on the nose and a fuller –than- average body. Both are great as aperitifs, patio sippers or paired with light summer fare. This fall, be sure try the new release of 2009 Freud’s Ego ($17). Therapy aficionados will find it similar in style to the 2008 – fruit-forward, with notes of blackberry and cherry. This is the winery’s popular Meritage blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot which spends 11 months in French or American oak before final blending and bottling. Therapy Vineyards relies mainly on its own Naramata Bench Estate grapes, but also has vineyards in Oliver, allowing the winemaker a lot of leeway in developing the winery’s portfolio. The portfolio ranges from Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc to Pinot Noir and Merlot, as well as a dessert wine.
The 2010 Bi-Polar ($40) is a beautifully balanced late harvest wine made from 100% Pinot Gris. This luscious wine is a two-time winner of Silver Medals at the All Canadian Wine Awards The Therapy Vineyards Guest House will be featuring a Fall Getaway Special, which includes a 10% discount at the Wine Shop. Guests enjoy fresh coffee and a continental breakfast delivered to their suite or room each morning. In addition, they can relax in tranquil common areas or the hot tub – perhaps enjoying their favorite ‘therapeutic’ wines – or put something on the barbeque to go along with their favourite wine.
Drop by anytime you need a little wine therapy!
