Arrowleaf Cellars is owned and operated by Joe and Margrit Zuppiger and son Manny who originate from Switzerland. The site has a very relaxed and picturesque setting overlooking Okanagan Lake, with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy your own picnic and sip on their excellent wines.
Arrowleaf possesses a varied portfolio of wines that are extremely well priced. The uniqueness of the site produces whites that are aromatic and fresh and reds that are fruit forward, flavourful and increasingly complex. It is no surprise that they are continuing to win awards, not just locally, but also nationally. On the international front, the 2011 First Crush Rosé won Best of Class at the Northwest Wine Summit held in Oregon earlier this year, a fantastic achievement. The attentive and knowledgeable wineshop staff are more than happy to help select wines that suit both your palate and price point.
On September 6th and 11th the winery concludes a series of painting workshops called Art and Swirl. They are conducted by Jennifer Pickering and offer a wonderful opportunity for budding artists to relax on the patio, taste wines and celebrate the colours of the Okanagan. Contact the winery for more details. 2011 Pinot Gris $16.99 This is a lovely Pinot Gris and winner of the Best of Varietal at the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival. Aromatic on the nose, with flavours of apple, flowers, peach and pear. The palate has an excellent balance of fruit, minerals and refreshing acidity. It is an absolute steal at this price point.
2011 Bacchus $14.99
One of Arrowleaf’s most popular wines, and justifiably so. Aromatic and juicy in style and just a touch off-dry but beautifully balanced with its lemony acidity. An ideal patio sipper or with any spicy ethnic cuisine.
