Fans of Desert Hills' wines will have something new to look at this summer as they sip their big reds and aromatic whites. A new look to the labels and a springtime wine shop renovation has given this established Black Sage Road winery a major update.
This was all the work of Lori King at Chickadee Branding Specialists, a brand strategy and development company that specializes in wine and spirits. "The new look was created to speak to the small lot, award-winning wines produced by Desert Hills," says King. "It also enables us to tell our story."
Also new this season is the addition of a wine club. "Many of our wines are sourced from a single vineyard and are limited in production," says owner Randy Toor. "As we often sell out of these wines, our wine club membership enables the member to receive priority access to these wines upon release with the ability to purchase additional bottles before the general release to the public." Along with priority access to new releases, wine club members will also receive exclusive access to wines created specifically for the wine club.
This will be a real treat for wine lovers interested in rare varieties such as Zinfandel and Malbec which Desert Hills produces in small quantities.
The team at Desert Hills is thrilled with the 2011 vintage, especially the whites. “The Viognier and Gewürztraminer are some of the best we've ever produced,” says Toor, "and next year, we will be launching a Rosé and an icon white blend, to partner with our icon red blend, Mirage!" No doubt wine club members will be the first to hear about it when that is released.
