Locals know RauDZ’s reputation for using regional and sustainable produce in their dishes. But now, so will visitors to Kelowna. This year RauDZ will be one of the featured Farm to Table restaurants in Tourism Kelowna’s Studio and Farm Tours brochure.
“At RauDZ Regional Table, we’ve been dedicated to showcasing locally produced ingredients and making this part of the experience of dining in our restaurant. Our philosophy is simple… support local, buy local, eat and drink local. We are thrilled that Tourism Kelowna has been able to create a visitor brochure that formalizes this core value—not just ours, but one that is echoed by our industry colleagues, whom we’re proud to be listed alongside. Ultimately, this brochure brings to life the linkages between the food on your plate and the local farmer who takes great pride in producing the ingredients,” says Chef Rod Butters.
For foodies and families, tracing the sustainable trail from plate to farm will add a whole new dimension to visiting Kelowna and its environs. Indulge in RauDZ’s Simple Pasta (hand-made pasta, oyster mushrooms, spinach with Carmelis Chevre) then tour Carmelis Goat Cheese Farm to see how the cheese is created. After savouring RauDZ’s Apple Rhubarb puff pastries, learn about the 100-year history of fruit growing and production at the old Laurel Packing House. You can also meet and chat with many of RauDZ’s suppliers at the Kelowna Farmers’ and Crafters market on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
